Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is the concept of integrating various mobility services under one digital platform that can be accessible at any time.
The purpose of MaaS is to provide various transportation methods or mobility related services under one or multiple applications to serve as an alternative of using privately-owned vehicles. Mobility options include car sharing, ride hailing, micro-mobility (including scooters and bikes), autonomous vehicles, bus sharing, car rentals and other forms of transportation services. Taxi and public transport could be also part of MaaS.
The size of the market for Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is expected to reach USD 370 billion by 2026 from estimated USD 42 billion in 2018 with a CAGR of around 23% during the forecast period.
